Labels that sell the scent and carry the safety information
A candle label has two jobs. The front sells: brand, scent name and a feel for the fragrance through color and type. The back or bottom carries the facts: net weight, burn instructions, your business details and the fire safety warning.
In the United States, the candle industry's cautionary labeling standard is ASTM F2058, which covers the fire safety warning on candles sold to consumers. Leave room for it on the back or bottom label, and check your label text against the standard and any rules for your market before you approve the proof.
Label size follows the vessel. Measure the flat area of the jar or tin where the label sits, and tell us whether the surface is straight or tapered, since tapered tumblers need a curved label shape to sit straight.
