Artwork & Proof Approval Policy

A proof for every order
Before anything is printed, you receive a digital proof showing your artwork on the exact dieline for your box. It shows the layout, size and dimensions, cut and fold lines, bleed and safe areas, print placement and finishes. Production starts only after you approve the proof in writing.
What to check before you approve
- Spelling, grammar, punctuation and spacing
- Logo and image placement
- Colours and branding
- Box style, dimensions and specifications
- Dieline, cut lines and fold marks
- Barcode placement, if you have one
- Material and finishing options, such as foil, embossing, spot UV or lamination
- Quantity and delivery address
You are responsible for the final approved proof. Errors that appear on the approved proof are not production errors and are not covered by our Quality Guarantee.
After you approve
Approved orders move into production quickly, often within hours. After approval, changes and cancellations are generally not possible. If you ask for a change after approval, we will tell you whether it can still be done and what it costs; once production has started, a change may need a complete reprint at your expense. See our Cancellation Policy.
Colour
Screens, office printers and digital proofs cannot show exactly how ink will look on board. Proofs confirm layout, text, images and placement, not exact colour or ink density. Material, coatings and lamination also change how colours appear. Minor colour variation between the proof and the printed packaging is normal and is not a reason for a reprint.
For the closest match, give us Pantone (PMS) references or CMYK values. If exact colour is critical, ask for a physical sample before production.
Physical samples
For suitable orders we can arrange a physical sample before mass production so you can check the material, structure and print. Sample timing depends on the style and is confirmed when you request one.
Artwork file requirements
- Vector files where possible: PDF, AI or EPS. PSD and other native files are also accepted.
- At least 300 DPI at final print size for photos and raster images.
- CMYK or Pantone colours. RGB is for screens; colour shifts from RGB conversion are not covered.
- Fonts outlined or supplied with the files, and body text no smaller than 9 pt.
- Clearly named, organised files, for example logo, dieline and print artwork kept separate.
If your files are not print ready, our designers can help prepare them, and you approve the result on the proof. Problems that come from files supplied below these requirements, such as blurry or pixelated images, are not production errors.
Your rights to the artwork
By sending artwork you confirm that you own it or have written permission to use every logo, image, trademark and text in it. We can refuse orders that are unlawful, infringe someone else's rights or contain offensive content.
Showing your packaging
Finished packaging may be photographed for our portfolio. If you would rather we did not show yours, email hello@vorexpackaging.com and we will not use it.
